Position:  PhD candidate
Research Area: Design and Chemical Synthesis of New chemical probes for Measurement of DNA Synthesis mammalian and parasite cells.

Biography: David obtained his Bachelor of Science Undergraduate degree from Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland. He conducted his honours project at the Eskitis Institute for Drug Discovery, investigating the prodrug approach in application to DNA biolabels. He is currently undertaking a PhD investigating structural modifications to biomolecules through novel synthetic chemistry techniques to develop improved and less disruptive DNA biolabels jointly with Professor Sally-Ann Poulsen’s Chemical Biology group and Professor Vicky Avery’s Discovery Biology group.
