Vera obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich in 2014.  She then commenced her Masters of Science in Biochemistry, also at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. She performed various research projects, including studies on Alzheimer’s disease at the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases and studies on the function of the proteasome in lung disease at the Helmholtz Centre Munich. In 2016, she joined the Discovery Biology (Avery) group to complete her Masters thesis on pancreatic cancer. For her project, Vera is focusing on targeting pancreatic cancer with natural products.
