Congratulations also to Dr John Holleran who was awarded an ASP Network Researcher Exchange, Training and Travel Award for a Researcher exchange to Professor Kiaran Kirk’s laboratory at the Australia National University, Canberra.

Congratulations to Dr Sabine Fletcher who has been awarded an OzEMalaR Travel Award for a Research Exchange to Professor Ponzi’s laboratory at Instituto Superiore de Sanita, Rome, Italy from 27 Sept – 10 October.

Congratulations to Dr Amy Jones who has been awarded a QTHA Travel Award and will be presenting her talk ‘Repurposing of Fingolimod for the Treatment of Human African Trypanosomiasis’ at the 2014 Australasian Tropical Health Conference in Palm Cove from 7-9th September.

Melissa Sykes was an invited speaker and also presented a poster at ICOPA 2014 (International Congress of Parasitology) held in Mexico City from 10th-14th August. Her talk was entitled ‘Drug discovery for Trypanosoma cruzi utilizing image- and fluorescence-based assays’

China Scholarship Council – Griffith University Joint Funding Program The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Griffith University (GU) have established the “China Scholarship Council – Griffith University Joint Funding Program”.  Scholarships for Chinese students wishing to undertake a PhD in Drug Discovery at Griffith University  CSC and GU will jointly sponsor 30 selected students each year (subject to meeting candidate eligibility requirements).
